I don't think there are too many of us that use the petcock,, even if it's working it's a tough one to move, much easier to keep an eye on the fuel gauge.

Why do you want to replace the handle bars, are they rusty,,, just clean them, apply some Fluid Film and your good to go.

The right side switch has been taken apart by most of us, just cleaned, lubed and used some more.

To clean the engine I use an orange based product called Citrosolve, a Dominion Chemical product, gets rid of anything, including rust and paint if used full strength, works wonders on the engine. If you want some, let me know and when either you're up here aor I'm down there I'll make sure you get some.

If you can get me some great just let me know when you have it and I'll come get it. Also what is the best way to clean sludge and rust out of a gas tank? I don't think I need to reline it just a good cleaning. Don't want to break the bank!:whistling: Yet!!

I usually have some here, cost is about 20 for a 4L, it also works great for gas tank cleaning. Add some CS and nails, screws, gravel and shake it around, let it sit and shake some more. CS works as good as navel jelly, or better.

HMMMM I got a truck, driveway full of gravel and I know where there's a really bumpy dirt road! I'm in business!!!:cool10: So when can I come get some CS I got $20 or would it be available local? I think the rest of you are just looking for a reason to come drink my excellent Canadian brew.:shock3:

Is it gravel you want, then it's here now, if it's CS then it could be here about supper time if the shop hasn't run out.

Marcarl I can pick it up on Thursday if you can give me a time and your location. I have the carbs off. Will cleaning the bodies of the carbs with degreaser hurt anything. I'll using carb cleaner once I start taking them apart. I found a loose rubber hose sticking out from under the carbs. When I pulled the carbs I discovered that it was a drain hose for the drain plug can this be replaced or repaired. The plastic tip that the hose goes onto is broke off in the hose. Sorry I didn't get back to you last night Marcarl we lost our hydro for a while.:headache:

Just picked up another case of CS this morning, with tax it's about $30. Address is the corner of Louis Cres and Madeleine Road Brantford although 26 is the house # not all GPS have that right.

Thursday should be fine, what time about?

The loose rubber hose is probably the drain hose for the air box, in case it floods with oil from the crankcase, not a big important item to worry about.

Cleaning carbs with CS works wonders on the outside.

Not from air box from carb. I'm free anytime, retired, so tell what's convenient for you. OK you are near the Airport. Also I finally got the gas cap off the tank :smile5:. I poured a liter of Evaporust that I got from Canadian Tire, I swear by the stuff, in to the tank turned it upside down so the Evaporust ran down to the cap let sit for 2 days now it turned off. Disassembled gas cap cleaned it out lubed everything with Lithium grease and reassembled works great. So now for the cleaning of the tank and the carbs!!!!!! :fingers-crossed-emo.

Tomorrow between 1 and 4 or after 7 would be fine, other than that it'll be Tuesday. Yep. I think I have that right.

Met Marcarl and his better half to today. Went up to his place to pick up CS for the big engine clean up. Took rest of panels off the bike panels are showing there age but they are repairable. The only real issue is the right and left fairing pockets. The are shot, too brittle to use. So I will have to find new ones when I get to that stage of my reassembly.
