ok here is what i got or get and i dont know if im doing this right i check my leads from the plu to the tci to # 1 2 3 4 coil red lead to power # 1 pin and black lead to pin 2 and get a reading of 22.4 ohms on 200k setting black lead on pin 3 reads 24.2 pin 6 29.6 pin 7 22.7 i get the same readings with red lead on pin 1 and black lead to each plug boot cap can some one tell me what im doing and if it wrong because i cant get any of my coils to read 2.7 ohs on any setting

Attached is a page from manual showing procedure. Lower two pictures. Readings are shown above meter.

 

This is 86-93 manual, RSV will be similar.

Are you disconnecting the coils from the wiring harness? Is the battery in your meter fresh?

 

I seem to remember something about the test procedure using an old analog meter movement as opposed to a digital movement. Try a different meter as well...

digital is all i have and probably needs fresh new batteries since i havent changed them sice i got it brand new 4 yrs. ago :whistling:

Pulling the large white connector off the TCI and read resistance between the ignition fuse and the connector's pins 2, 3, 6 & 7 for your primary coil resistance.
