Evan Posted May 24, 2013 #1 Posted May 24, 2013 Rode from North Bay to Toronto through some rain earlier this week. Here in Ontario, they use liquid road salt on our main highways when needed through the winter. Well, it is spring now and we have had many good spring rains, so I was surprised to see the road salt residue on my socks after the ride. Guess I need to give my bike a good bath more often.
BradT Posted May 25, 2013 #3 Posted May 25, 2013 Or change your socks more often! Now that was Funny. Brad
Brake Pad Posted May 25, 2013 #5 Posted May 25, 2013 Here is Florida, we have about that much salt in the air at any given time, so a heavy rain, is always welcome, at the end of a days ride.
rbig1 Posted May 25, 2013 #6 Posted May 25, 2013 if you dont rub the metal the salt is still there. the liquid salt sticks good. running water on it thins it but its still there. if you go on the under side of a bridge and look up you will see salt in the concrete cracks. not a new bridge takes a few years.
