I recently purchased a 2006 RSTD and would like to remove the passenger seat and install some sort of chrome rack to cover the top of the fender. I have done several searches and have come up with bits and pieces of information. Can someone point me in the direction of some available parts to accomplish this?

Thanks

Bob, removing the back seat and putting a luggage rack in place completely changes the look of scoot. Throw in the seat rail and the safety chrome really shines up. Now go one more step and install the saddle bag spacer chrome and folks in space will be wearing sunglasses. :big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon: I'll see if I can help locate a luggage rack for ya.

There are pics of what the complete solo seat set up (fender rack, seat rail and filler panels) looks like on my midnight RTSD in an album on my profile page. I have since sold all these pieces but you can judge for youself what it look likes. I loved the look, but the reality for me having the wife ride with me meant lots of swapping back and forth.

I found all the pieces searching craiglist on google. Alot of peoplesell their accessories instead of trading them in with the bike. Everyone I dealt with on CL was willing to ship. ebay would be another source, but hit or miss on deals and people with NOS parts on ebay still want full retail ( at least back when I was looking). I tend to avoid ebay at all costs if I can help it.

When trying to access your profile I get the following message....."1fastbob, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation." I may be too new here to yet look at profiles.

Welcome to one of the best motorcycle groups on the internet Bob. RSTDdog has the right idea. I still have all the parts he had and install them whenever I'm going on long solo ride. Eventually, I plan on getting a new victory :fingers-crossed-emo and will use that for touring and RSTD will be my solo bike only.
