djh3 Posted May 20, 2013 #2 Posted May 20, 2013 Usually they seat with around 30-40 psi I think. If you got one the bead is stuck on, let the air out and if you can pop the bead and try to reseat. Or lower pressure down and slap some dish soap mix with water. spread on bead where your having problem and air up again. I dont think I would go 10 psi over sidwall recomended. Sometimes you can bounce it and get them to seat too. but the soap should do it.
MiCarl Posted May 20, 2013 #3 Posted May 20, 2013 You're not supposed to exceed the maximum pressure listed on the sidewall. 1st gen tires usually seat pretty easily. They need to be lubricated. I use water with just a touch of dish soap. You want to avoid a bunch of water in the tire, just the bead itself wet. DO NOT USE ANY PETROLEUM BASED LUBRICANT.
Goose68 Posted May 21, 2013 Author #5 Posted May 21, 2013 Got both of the new E3's mounted, Ride-on installed, greased both ends of drive line, and changed gear oil in final drive. Took it for a small test ride (would have rode longer but tornado sirens were going off) and the back tire seems slightly out of round. It did feel like it was smoothing out by the time I got home. I was wondering if I get out and ride it on a hot day will it smooth on out ?
