jonesy Posted May 18, 2013 #1 Posted May 18, 2013 but was a little different, got 50 feet away and it was a big black bear crossing the road, good thing I slowed down when I first saw it. Have seen moose, deer, turkeys, raccoons, skunks, crossing the road but never a bear till today.
Richie R Posted May 18, 2013 #2 Posted May 18, 2013 Did it look like this? This was taken in my backyard. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa254/richier73/IMG_0005-1_zps960e82cc.jpg Richie R
Snaggletooth Posted May 18, 2013 #3 Posted May 18, 2013 Crossing in front of me I could put up with. One that wants to meet me.... not so much.
jonesy Posted May 18, 2013 Author #4 Posted May 18, 2013 It was more the running bear size, about as close as I got, the other one is much to close for me.
slowrollwv Posted May 18, 2013 #5 Posted May 18, 2013 I have seen several here in WV. but have not had a camera ready to take the shot. Have also seen a couple mountain lions.
oldgoat Posted May 18, 2013 #6 Posted May 18, 2013 I think yammerdan has a wanted poster on one. something about gloves missing not sure:detective:

Skid Posted May 18, 2013 #8 Posted May 18, 2013 I see one or two a year cross the road or beside the road here. Not to rare to hear of one getting hit by a car. I took this pic last fall. The mother is directly above cub at top of pic in the tree line watching her cub in this pic.
Guest Posted May 18, 2013 #9 Posted May 18, 2013 So, this begs the question.....Why did the bear cross the road???
bongobobny Posted May 19, 2013 #13 Posted May 19, 2013 So, this begs the question.....Why did the bear cross the road??? Because it wanted to...
Jayceesfolly Posted May 19, 2013 #14 Posted May 19, 2013 Is that bear, sitting at the table, at a DQ? The table looks familiar.
Snaggletooth Posted May 19, 2013 #15 Posted May 19, 2013 Might have been. He was sitting on somebodies gloves.
Jayceesfolly Posted May 19, 2013 #16 Posted May 19, 2013 I wonder if Big Tom would arm wrestle him for a super banana split!!!
Brake Pad Posted May 19, 2013 #17 Posted May 19, 2013 I don't think there is enough toilet paper on the bike, for this lot !!!!
Flyinfool Posted May 19, 2013 #18 Posted May 19, 2013 Whatever you do, do not stop to take a pic of the cute little bear on the right, when mama is hiding on your left. I tried that once and mama did serious damage to the drivers side of my Suburban. I also found out that a POed mama can run 45 mph for about a mile. Never did get the pic, got to busy driving down that logging road.....
chabicheka Posted May 19, 2013 #19 Posted May 19, 2013 Sometimes they just want a lil snack. Or....they just want to HUG you....:bighug:
BIG TOM Posted May 20, 2013 #20 Posted May 20, 2013 I wonder if Big Tom would arm wrestle him for a super banana split!!! AND I'D WIN !!!
