How wide can we go?

On the rear tire that is? My cousin bought a pair of tires for his 1500 GW but decided to take a different route for some reason. Anywho, I considered buying them of him, the rear is a 160/80/16. Stock is 140/90/16. So that's about 20mm wider, and I know its been mentioned that people have gone with a 150mm tread width. Not having actually measured th space with the stock size, I'm guessing a 160 would be to wide. What's the widest that anybody has been able to stuff under the bush pad?
