Pressure Posted May 15, 2013 #1 Posted May 15, 2013 The bike starts right away and idles like a purring cat but as soon as you give it any throttle it burps and sputters and dies. Wont run at anything over an idle but idles beautifully. Any help would be great. Could it be stator? Or simple vacum leak/fuel issue? Have cleaned the carbs but thats as far as Ive gotten.
GaryZ Posted May 15, 2013 #2 Posted May 15, 2013 May be a vacuum leak . . . Test first by plugging all of the vacuum ports, one on the base of each carb, with a short piece of vacuum hose and a small bolt. If you have the same symptom, try shooting WD-40 around the carb bases.
Power Trippin Posted May 15, 2013 #4 Posted May 15, 2013 It still sounds like dirty carbs to me. What did it run like before you cleaned the carbs?
dingy Posted May 15, 2013 #5 Posted May 15, 2013 It ain't the stator I'll bet. Look at air box also & see if filter is in place and have any holes been drilled in air box or lid. Gary
