I have a dumb question now. Are these clip ons you all are talking about from the optical store or cheap ones from some other retail store.

Brad

I got mine from walmart, but you can get them just about anywhere. They have them in different sizes so just match up your lenses with the choices. If your like me you may want to have someone else with you. I take my glasses off and everything gets blurry. Mine work great and they are the springy type they have little hook things on them and you just snap them on over your lenses. The ones they had that clipped on to your bridge of the glasses were always a bit heavy for me.

I don't wear glasses, except for reading, but ALWAYS wear polycarbonate sunglasses [or clear for night riding]. Even though I have a windshield.

Most sunglasses used to be polycarbonate, but they have been harder to find in the past few years, around here.

When the Dollar Store gets them in, I get 6 pr. sunglasses & a couple clear $8., total about once a year.

Sharon wears eyeglasses, so she always knows exactly where they are.

She's a little fashion conscience & has a pair for work, home & a VERY dark gray RX for sunglasses.

On the scoot, she just swaps them as needed, & pulls visor back down.

I just got my new transition glasses this week (3 rd pair) and your right they don't change while under a visor or in a cage. In the past I always would have my old pair tinted for use as my sun glasses. And that's what I'm using now. I don't know if you can have transitions tinted so they are dark all the time. That I will have to look into because tinting the old ones is a good option. :2cents:

Check this site out. These are pricy but they are pretty awsome glasses.

A freind of mine wears them and he swears by them. He rides a Harley, no windsheild and says he has never gottten a bug or dirt in the eye while wearing these

I mayself have a pair of Maui Jims wrap around polarized and I absolutely love them. Of course they are expensive but my medical at work paid for them.

Rather than buy expensive sunglasses we got LASIK and wear some relatively inexpensive polycarbonate sunglasses now.

Thought of that but they said I would need glassed to read in a few years so thought why spend the money to have to get galsses a few years later.

I wear cocoons. They fit over your regular glasses and wrap around the sides.

I bought mine at a local optomitrist.

The latest generation of Transitions lenses http://www.transitions.com has just come out, Transitions VI, they go darker and clear quicker than ever before. They are available in Polycarbonite Rx lenses, much safer, used in safety glasses. They are activated by UV light, the more direct the light the darker the lenses and the colder the darker, it is true they do not change much in the car. You can buy an inexpensive sunglass frame and have an Optician fit the Rx lenses to that frame, the more curved the frame the more expensive the lenses and for those old farts like me they can be made in bifocals or progressive no line lenses.

Magnetic sunglass clip-ons are good for walking, or putting on over your Transitions when driving your car but not good for riding or sailing etc.

Transitions lenses can't be tinted darker.

Polarized lenses are a great way to go but of course they don't get lighter and darker but can be made in Rx form.

The best thing you can do for any Rx lens is to purchase the newer, harder scratch resistant coatings TD2, UT, HC are some of the manufacturers names for these coatings, cost is about $48 more.

I where the bomber kit From Voodoo eyeware and would reccomend them to anyone they are a good price. I where bi-focals but I only could put my perscription for distance in them. which works for me. I usually switch to glasses when I get off my bike.
