b2dad Posted May 15, 2013 #6 Posted May 15, 2013 Carbon One and wife Joyce are already here...Can't wait to see everyone!!! Ride safe!!!
dingy Posted May 15, 2013 #7 Posted May 15, 2013 Bob & Becky left Mansfield Ohio about 5:00pm, after an early dinner at Cracker Barrel with me. Great weather for them today. They are going to ride a few more hours and stop somewhere north of Cincinnati for the night. Gary
bongobobny Posted May 16, 2013 Author #8 Posted May 16, 2013 Yup! We got to a Holiday Express Inn Grove City just south of Columbus. Thanks Gary for that detour away from the construction on the I71. It was a nice scenic ride thru the countryside!! We took a nice walk to a shopping mall close by for some exercise. Tomorrow's goal is to make it past Louisville an hour or two, so we will have a relatively short ride Friday. See everybody at the motel!!
buddy Posted May 16, 2013 #9 Posted May 16, 2013 hope you make there since your towing the trailer backwards Be ready for a big hug since I haven't seen you since the Hub Rally. We will see you two at the motel.
b2dad Posted May 16, 2013 #10 Posted May 16, 2013 You need to make Elizabethtown, KY if you can. then it's only about 5-6 hrs from there.
bongobobny Posted May 16, 2013 Author #12 Posted May 16, 2013 hope you make there since your towing the trailer backwards Be ready for a big hug since I haven't seen you since the Hub Rally. We will see you two at the motel. Yea, I knows it's backwards, I just liked how it looked that way and it works out better with the cooler...
Dano Posted May 16, 2013 #13 Posted May 16, 2013 Good thing I moved out of south Columbus 30+ years ago, or you'd have to eat dinner twice last night!
cecdoo Posted May 16, 2013 #14 Posted May 16, 2013 From those pics, it looks like retirement agrees with you two:thumbsup: Enjoy your ride and have a great time! Craig
Wade 2000 Posted May 16, 2013 #15 Posted May 16, 2013 Yup! We got to a Holiday Express Inn Grove City just south of Columbus. Thanks Gary for that detour away from the construction on the I71. Tomorrow's goal is to make it past Louisville an hour or two, so we will have a relatively short ride Friday. See everybody at the motel!! The wife and I ate dinner right across the street from you last night. We were on the North side of Stringtown rd. at a Mexican joint. It's a small world...
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2013 Author #16 Posted May 17, 2013 I think I remember walking past the place!! We walked to Kohls and then across the street to Targe'...
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2013 Author #17 Posted May 17, 2013 OK we drove a little further than we anticipated, we are at the Hampton in Paris Tenn. Hit a sprinkle or 2 when we left, got rained on pretty hard going thru Cincinnati. Got rained on one more time past Louisville. We were going to stop at one place off I24 and asked how far to Murray, expecting to hear an hour or two but was told 45 minutes! Becky said why don't we go all the way, so we did!! Yama Mama, we tooted as we went past, did you hear us?? We saw a big bunch of trees and figured that was where you live... So tomorrow I'm going over to Hannigan to complain about my leaking trunk, and hit up Wally World. I also need a new set of cramp busters, mine both broke!
dingy Posted May 17, 2013 #18 Posted May 17, 2013 Becky said why don't we go all the way, so we did!! You are a lucky man, it's been a while since a woman said that to me !! Gary
Monty Posted May 17, 2013 #19 Posted May 17, 2013 I think Pitbull has the Crampbusters. They open around 9.
Monty Posted May 17, 2013 #21 Posted May 17, 2013 Plastic piece that wraps around your throttle, so you can rest your hand.
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2013 Author #22 Posted May 17, 2013 They make a world of difference too!! Once you get used to them you can't live without them...
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2013 Author #23 Posted May 17, 2013 Yuk!!! It's raining it's b*lls off out there!!!
Monty Posted May 17, 2013 #24 Posted May 17, 2013 I can pick some up for you today if you want, so you don't have to ride out here in the rain. Just let me know, and how many. I'll stop up there & see if they have any.
bongobobny Posted May 17, 2013 Author #25 Posted May 17, 2013 Thanks Monte!!! Yes, a pair of the nice wide ones that have the curly part centered between the wide part. Black ones, the chrome ones are poo poo, don't hold up as well. I think the chrome process weakens them...
