I asked a few here in Michigan when they were going, have not heard back from everyone just yet, so I figured I would post it here. I am going to Freebird's Maintainance Day on Friday morning. Anyone from Michigan want to meet for breakfast and then ride down together?

May join you. we have reservations at Oberlin Inn. I'm not sure if we booked for Thursday or Friday. I'll check when we get home from the B2's M&E this weekend.

Cool beans Larry, I think Jay maybe going. We can come up with a route down. I know you usually take the back roads, not sure how you go, but it works for me. Talk to you when you get back.

I am planning to leave Milwaukee at around 3:00 AM Friday morning.

I might be heading thru around the time you folks are heading out.

Plan it out so you are in SE michigan before 10:30 am. We'll wait for you.

The 3AM start gets me past Chicago and into Indiana by 6am before most of the loonies are out. I'll have to do some figuring to see just when I'll be in the area and just how far out of the way it is.

We could meet in Monroe, Mi or I-280 & Rt. 2. We have a nice back road ride to freebirds. Are you planning on taking I-80 ? If so look for route 2 , it starts around Toledo. That's the road we'll be running, it's a nice road/ ride along lake erie.

I-280 & Rt 2 would work for you. If you are coming in on I-80 on the Turnpike, get off at exit 71 near Toledo and go North on I-280. Get off at exit 7 (Rt 2) and turn right at the end of the ramp on Wheeling St, go a couple of blocks past the hospital and turn right on Rt 2. There is a Timmie Ho's on the left as soon as you go around the corner. Also a Bob Evans about two blocks down on the left. Google "Bob Evans in Oregon, OH" for the location. It is about 210-220 miles from Gary (I-90).

You could also get off the Tpk at exit 64 and take I-75 North to exit 199 (Miami St) and turn right off the ramp onto Miami St and follow to a right on Navarre Ave which turns into Rt2.

The second option is about 10 miles shorter.

That should put you there about 10 AM (assuming you get to Gary about 6 AM).

I used to drive a truck in there all the time a few years ago and deliver near the hospital.

Route 2 thru OH is a really nice ride.

Just to let you know that Ohio Bike Week is happening in Sandusky during that week, may want to look it over, I may take a ride over there to check it out.

The Bob Evans looks like a much better option for me.

I will be needing a gas stop around there anyhow.

To make it there by 10 would mean that everything goes smoothly with no traffic or weather issues or my marshmallow butt needing more stops than planned.:whistling:

We will be able to guess more closely as the time gets closer.

Bob Evans Restaurant

2849 Navarre Ave.

Oregon, Oh.

If we leave our meeting at 10am. we should be to Bob Evans about 10:30

If you see you're going to be running late call and let me know, my number is in my profile. With my Buddy Rich cable now installed, I'll get your call even if I'm riding. :thumbsup2:
