rickardracing Posted May 14, 2013 #1 Posted May 14, 2013 I have not yet looked for it, but supposedly there is an unused power cord under the seat on the 2nd gens. Does anyone know what the max milliamp rating this cord puts out?
LilBeaver Posted May 14, 2013 #2 Posted May 14, 2013 Stock is a Sumitomo 2 position 0.090 waterproof MT connector, fused at 5 A. 5A = 5000 milliamps. V7Goose posted a way to use this connector -- basically removing the plugs from the end and shoving wires through. I have done this on mine and it works great. Others snip the end off and wire up whatever end they wanted on it...
rickardracing Posted May 14, 2013 Author #3 Posted May 14, 2013 I was thinking of using this to power my Satellite radio through a usb connector. It says 500 ma max. My gps is plugged into the plug on the fairing and I need another one. Usb is a low profile. But I guess the power supply for the radio reduces the ma rating?
MikeWa Posted May 14, 2013 #4 Posted May 14, 2013 Pins and connectors for this plug are available from Eastern Beaver. http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/connectors.html Mike
djh3 Posted May 14, 2013 #5 Posted May 14, 2013 I used it with a relay for an aux power on back for the boss's phone charger.

dingy Posted May 14, 2013 #7 Posted May 14, 2013 I would just cut the connector off and run wire to a differant connector. Couple of pictures of rear power connector on RSV. Gary
