shmily Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 My recently acquired 2007 Midnight Venure makes an annoying background hiss and a soft ticking sound when we use the intercom. Is this normal or is there something I can do about it?
BIG TOM Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 pm sent.....................:fatsmiley:also check those intercom settings.....
Midnight Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Do a search on "Mic Mutes". I installed them and they helped alot.
LilBeaver Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Another option is to actually address the issue. The 'ticking' folks hear in the IC system that is typically described is believed to be caused by EM induction in the IC wires running under the tank over or near one of the ignition coils. If you remove the fuel tank and the 'cable guides' you can easily re-route the audio cable and get it away from the ignition coil. Mine was really bad if I turned the IC volume above 12 or so, until I routed the cable properly - now I can have it all the way up to 20 and not have any ticking at all. By the way, I will probably have my tank off sometime in the next week or so, if I do I can take some pictures to show this but there are probably some already up here somewhere....
djh3 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I'd be up for knowing where and what wires to move. I ocasionaly have the issue of the ticking.
shmily Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Big Tom, I got your PM. Thanks much. I'm also looking forward to help with the rigth wires to reroute. Makes good sense to me.
