Pappa Bear Posted February 11, 2008 #1 Posted February 11, 2008 are the 1st generations speakers just regular speakers or are they weather resistant? What would be a good upgrade without adding an amp
Freebird Posted February 12, 2008 #2 Posted February 12, 2008 Any good speaker with polycarbonate cones will be fine. The Polk 400 or 401s seem to be getting pretty popular around here. I have Pioneers in my RSV but am going to try the Polks soon. By the way, the Polk speaker is rated for marine use so it should hold up very well.

What would be a good upgrade without adding an amp I would assume that they would be weather resistant. Jerry W. and I just installed some Polk 401's in our 2nd Gens and they were a great improvement over stock. The Polk 401's are rated for marine use as well. Circuit City had them on sale for "buy 1 get 1 half off". Total cost was 65 a pair.
