Looking to replace my grips but finding conflicting information here.

Some say to buy 7/8" grips, others say to buy Goldwing grips. Goldwing grips are 1" from what I see on all sites.

What is correct?

What bike? The 2nd gens use 1 inch. I'm not sure about the 1st gen.

Update: Never mind, brain fart. I see its a 1st gen your talking about.

I have the package mine came in in front of me. Kuryakyn ISO GRIPS, CHROME, FOR GOLD WING. Fits: ALL '75-UP GOLD WING MODELS.

Model 6180

Gold Wing must have 7/8" bars.

Sorry for hijacking but who has the Kury ISO grips out there. I really like the look but wonder about comfort and cold weather.

For comfort, I love my (OEM?) "foam" grips as well as the insulating factor when riding in colder weather.

The rubber on the ISO grip protrudes above the metal. Your hands are on the rubber so it's not particularly cold.

They're going to be larger diameter than your foam grips. I find the larger diameter to be much more comfortable.

One thing to pay attention to, which is in the instructions: You want to orient the grip so the rubber is pointing toward your arm rather than a gap. This improves comfort. That means the one on the throttle side needs to be positioned so it points toward you with some throttle twist. I think I used about 20 degrees or so.

Yeah...I wondered if that was enough to insulate your hands from the metal.

Thanks!:dancefool:

I recently installed the Heated Grips from SHow Chrome intended for a 1800 gold wing. They are slightly larger than the OEM foam grips which I seem to like ( it seems easier to twist the throttle). There is a reostat that mounts to the bars and varies the temperature of the grips. So far they have been great!
