SilvrT Posted May 7, 2013 #1 Posted May 7, 2013 Due to crappy weather forecast the Lacey M&E got moved to May 11th from Apr 27th. As of this past Friday we've been blessed with fantastic weather ... breaking high temps records all over the province. Continueing thru to this coming Friday and then ..... according to the weather reports, it clouds up late Friday, Saturday periods of rain and Sunday rain all day. DAMMIT I hope it's WRONG
Peder_y2k Posted May 7, 2013 #2 Posted May 7, 2013 The US gumment weather forecast currently (9:00am Tue.) has forecasted partly sunny, 74 degrees for Sat. with chance of showers Sat night and Sunday at the meet. It's been long known that forecasting weather beyond 3 days in advance is really questionable. Bring your raingear..... We're now planning on riding down on Friday afternoon and staying 2 nights.
Miles Posted May 7, 2013 #4 Posted May 7, 2013 Rick, we are holding THEE Great Pacific Northwest Meet & Eat this Saturday, whther you show up or not, and whther it rains late Saturday night or not. I have it on good authority that it will NOT rain on us while we are at the restaurant. Period. Now, for you people that have to ride in a day in advance...it is only 250 miles from your house to the M & E...and then stay over an extra night after the M & E...that is on you. If it were ME...I would ride there that morning, that piddly little 250 miles ride you have...and ride home that afternoon, again...that piddly little 250 mile ride you have. It may rain very lightly on Saturday NIGHT, and some scattered rain on Sunday. Nut...you live in the Pacific NorthWET, so you are used to it. Are you afraid your Pumpkin bike will start to spoint if left in the rain too long ?

Well Miles ... after all, it is YOUR M&E so I totally understand. Nut...you live in the Pacific NorthWET, so you are used to it. I've lived here for 11 years and I honestly doubt I will ever get used to it. Once I retire, we're moving to the interior where there is 4 distinct seasons and a whole lot more sunshine. In our case, we choose to ride down a day in advance and stay over 2 nights ... a nice little weekend getaway ... for Mother's day (since we missed the trip on her b/day). Once I retire, we're moving to the interior where there is 4 distinct seasons and a whole lot more sunshine. You are right, the Interior does have 4 distinct seasons, and much more sunshine than Burnaby has. I "think" my wife and I have made the decision to stay right where we are for the rest of our lives. This is really my 57th home, and her 49th home, and we are very pleased with our weather, the overall climate, the topography, and our property. Having lived in 30 different states, and in 18 different countries...I am very happy to settle in for the long haul. Any idea of WHERE in the Interior you think you want to move to ????
SilvrT Posted May 7, 2013 Author #7 Posted May 7, 2013 Any idea of WHERE in the Interior you think you want to move to ???? Somewhere where I haven't already lived Actually, nowhere north of Kamloops for sure. Not Revelstoke ... gets too much snow. Grand Forks is an "up and coming" retirement area with good support systems for seniors and prices are still reasonable. Really like the Oliver area but that's getting pricey. Salmon Arm is another really nice area. Of those three I've only not lived in Grand Forks. Lived in almost every other part of the southern half of the province as well as Burns Lake in the north. There are other areas I'd consider (further east) but the wife .... well, she's a WET Coast girl and her kids are here and ... and ...
