Is it on BOTH sides or just one? Mine was on one side only... Front and rear happened on DIFFERENT sides...

I went straight through Avon and they did the warranty replacement through my local dealer/tire rep... 3 Sets this way and they finally bought me a set of E3s. :080402gudl_prv:

When I bought my E3's the guy I bought them from said Avon had discontinued the Venom in our size so you may not find them newer had 404'S stock wanted something different so E3 won

It is on both sides of the front tire the rear is not showing any signs of cracking.

I went to Jake Wilson, M/C superstore, and the place mentioned on Brake Pads rear tire thread and I didn't find a set in either E3 or Avon. Could find maybe one or the other but not a matched set. When these were worn out I had been toying with the idea of a set of E3's white walls.

If Jake Wilson hasn't responded tomorrow to my e-mail there getting another phone call.

So far, even though my bike has been off the road for 2 years now the Avons that were on them are still not showing any signs of cracking, even after I mounted them to my chrome rims. Been an Avon fan for years but hope this cracking issue that has been going around isnt a long term problem like the ME 880's have been.

Now, that being said, I used to love the 880's until the delamination issues I had with 2 sets. Great handling tires but I lost confidence in them. But it seems that they have upgraded that 880. New design sure looks good but as of now there is no 150 front tire. Ill keep an eye on them to see if there are any issues in the future with the new 880's before I buy a set again.

Why do you guys keep putting the Avons on your rides when there is a constant issue of sidewall cracking? I don't get it. I just replaced my E3's after 22,000 miles with another set of E3's. Avons are not even a consideration.

it looks like dry rot or uv damage. I agree these tires have issues, when I went through EVOC they told us not to ride on sidewalls like that no matter what the tread looks like. Sidewall failure is a bad thing.

Wouldn't say it is constant lot of folks not having problems with them my first set no issues in fact I will probably put my old front back on until this is resolved. Really shouldn't have changed it out as it still had plenty of tread left but I had already bought the set when I realized how much was remaining. Glad I still have it now.
