Well, I've learned a few important lessons.

I strapped the camera on my helmet and went on a 3 hour ride...to show you folks the great rides around eastern Ontario.

1) the speed seems greatly exaggerated. The video looks like I was flying. I was doing 65 mph mostly...but it looks like 100!

2) The camera really straightens out the curves. There are some really wonderful twisties...one spot beside a lake where it's hard to do more than 15-20 ....yet it looks tame on the video. I draged floorboards a couple of times but you can't see it. Same with going uphill. One spot I climbed a few hundred feet but can't tell unless you catch where I looked to the side and notice the lake receding below you.

3) I should have saved the videos (I had about 40 short clips) BEFORE I renamed them.

when I got home I hooked up the camera to look at them (videos were numbered file names) and renamed them to the identify the location where they were taken.

Now they are just GONE! I've tried several ways of looking at the memory card but I can't see the renamed files anywhere.

That's a real shame...cause they were the best ones!

Oh well.....gives me an excuse for going for another ride.

Hi

I bought the same camera. They are a great cheap unit. You have to download the files to your computer. Then open them up with your viewer and see what you've got.If it seems fast you will have to download another viewer and convert the files. You can pic the file format the camera records in . This is just another reason for a ride Steve.:cool10:

Hey Steve,

I've done that!!

I got to ask, is it you cannot see the vids from the camera display on the camera menu or from the "Drift" file on the computer? I had some I could not see from the display menu but could from the "Drift" file when patched in.

I learned as soon as I get back to the computer to patch in with the USB cord and from the "Drift" file in the directory then create new sub directory files for the clips to save them to. I name the files for the area or event or person. Then going through the Drift file from the directory on the computer I copy the files I want to save and move them to the new files I made. Then I rename and date them there and they stay put. At that point I delete all clips from the camera.

You think the camera shots from the helmet looks fast, mount in down low on the crash bars and take a run through traffic. Looks like one of those crazy Russian UTube vids.
