XV1100SE Posted May 5, 2013 #1 Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) Accident in Toronto today that killed the motorcyclist. He struck a pedestrian that crossed mid-block. Early in the season. Car drivers aren't totally aware of us, pedestrians, kids, animals... Recheck your bike's nuts and bolts, tire pressures, brakes. Any new additions should be checked to make sure they are still secure. http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2013/05/04/one_motorcyclist_dead_two_pedestrians_injured_in_downtown_collision.html This one is more for the information than finding a lawyer : http://www.motorcycleaccident.org/motorcycle-accidents-statistics-and-possible-causes/ Ontario stats - http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/orsar/orsar08/special-vehicles.shtml#motorcycles U.S. 2012 - http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/1225013 CDC report - http://www.cdc.gov/features/dsmotorcyclesafety/index.html Old report - http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-Safety/crash.htm Edited May 5, 2013 by XV1100SE

bongobobny Posted May 5, 2013 #3 Posted May 5, 2013 Yes, in Western New York we just lost a police officer who was off duty on his bike and collided with a car. The cause is still under investigation but it does not matter who or what was at fault, the point is the young man is dead! Please be careful out there and stay alert at all times!
