lsutley Posted May 4, 2013 #1 Posted May 4, 2013 I have a few alterations to make to my 86 and would like to complete them as effectively as possible. I guess a list of tasks would be the easiest way to explain everything that needs completed. Rebuild carburetors Install Vmax heads Replace starter with 4 pole Install modified starter clutch Install upgraded stator Replace gear selection pickup Install new R/R Install new TCI Install Barnett clutch assembly Would it be best to remove the motor to the bench and go from there?
muffinman Posted May 5, 2013 #2 Posted May 5, 2013 For everything but the heads I would leave the motor in but it would be easier to do the heads out of the bike as I am not sure if the head studs would come out easy enough. Jeff
Yammer Dan Posted May 5, 2013 #3 Posted May 5, 2013 I about agree with Jeff. If you are doing all that it would be much easier on the bench(heavy Duty) instead of bending over for a lot of hrs.
