wrenchrob Posted May 7, 2013 Author #7 Posted May 7, 2013 That spray tint may be the key for my success. Has anyone tried the plastic roll of stick on tint? I am concerned about my ability to spray on an even coat. Thanks again Rob

A single curved windshield is doable as the film will lay correctly on it. A double curved surface requires a film that will stretch to fit the surface and tint film will not.
ACE50 Posted May 7, 2013 #9 Posted May 7, 2013 I'd recommend to anyone with a RSTD to tint or blackout the lower part of the windshield. First, it looks better. Second, and more important, all the chrome in the front just reflects the sun right in your face. I blacked out mine about 4" above the upper chrome piece and all below that. Much, much nicer to ride without the sun reflecting in your face. Mine is the midnight model so it did match well. Tint film will not work because of the double curved surfaces.

Condor Posted September 10, 2013 #11 Posted September 10, 2013 I just bought a dark tint Show Chrome 10". Actually 2 of them. I lucked into a deal while surfing. $50.00 bucks each, and shipping free over $100. Generally they run around $60 ea.. So the '99 and '07 are now lookin' goood!!....
