Bigweave30 Posted May 1, 2013 #1 Posted May 1, 2013 Just traded and got a 1999 venture two tone sliver/grey.. their is a small amount of rash on the bottom fairing.. (dark grey part) My question: Is there any touch up paint (duplicolor) that is close to that same color...
djh3 Posted May 1, 2013 #2 Posted May 1, 2013 Man I dont think so. Only folks I know of that make paint to color code for bikes is color rite. This page shows 2 gray/silver colors for that year of bike. Heres a place cycle color that might be an option. Post a pic some may be able to help you out with an option. Problem being with just touching it up is the paint on the bike is 14yr old and the color you order will not be "aged" so will probably be different shade. Look thru the wifes fingernail polish collection. Your looking at somewhere around $30 for a small bottle of touch up.
KeithR Posted May 1, 2013 #3 Posted May 1, 2013 Any body shop should be able to do a color match for you......but may be a tad expensive unless you know someone in the biz. Keith
SilvrT Posted May 1, 2013 #4 Posted May 1, 2013 Go to an auto body paint supplier (jobber that supplies body shops with paint and other materials) ... specifically one that has a "rattle can" filler system. They can match the paint and put it into a rattle can and you're good to go.
djh3 Posted May 4, 2013 #5 Posted May 4, 2013 I had 900 vulcan carribean blue. I put a fairing on it and a friend of mine owns a paint shop. We matched up some paint from house of color. Was really close. Any way some stripes or something will cover? Or is it a bit more than that?
