I would not buy a new car with carbs, no abs, or inferior sound system, inferior handling. Not new... Not today...... Used I know it's a good value on reliable equipment. There are many things we can Add to our bikes to modernize the components but Yamaha should be doing this for us. That is why Victory and HD will sell way more touring bikes than Yamaha this year and every year until they update.

I also upgraded my 32" tube TV to a 50" 1080p flat screen and got the wife a dishwasher.. The old way worked fine but I don't think I can go back now.:stickpoke:

comparing an air cooled two cylinder to a liquid cooled 4 cylinder...Seems to me "that is the oldway":stickpoke:

It's also part of the reason these engines will go 200,000 miles with zero problems....

I prefer liquid cooled also. But Victory is not having heat issues like HD because they put a high volume oil pump on standard with an oil cooler. They actually had to downsize the cooler to get the engine to reach a running temp. It is a modern Vtwin not an adapted old HD technology with modern components hung off of it. Believe me, if Yamaha comes out with the new v4 in a touring platform I believe they could be top dog again but right now they are just getting by. IMHO

Carbs work definatly-One advantage to FI is better fuel economy along with better emmisions as fuel is "metered" better. Gen 2's probably average about 38 maybe 40mpg on long highway trips. Atleast thats what I see, and my buddies HD with FI gets almost 50 on the same fuel run. Most of the bigger new bikes come in around high 30 to 40 mpg.

Bluetooth would be nice. Right now I'm struggling to get a cable to work good. I can hear the other person OK but under way they cant hear me. They say to much interfearence. I'm working thru if its adapter related or mic.- A factory type system would be prefered with an easier to use "aux or MP3" hookup.

If I didnt like it I wouldnt have spent my coins. When buying used you go with what you feel is the best deal available.
