GeorgeS Posted April 27, 2013 #2 Posted April 27, 2013 Anyone have a source for these or a part number that I can order form an online source? It seems my weekend maintaince of replacing the starter is turning up more and more things I need to replace while I am in there. Pull up web site for any Yamaha dealer, find parts section, ( the Ill parts catalog ) and you can order any part for any yamaha vehical, " On Line " For that pipe, be sure to order new " O-Rings " also. I remember replacing mine, I used 2 O-Rings, and Sealant, it never leaked again !
timgray Posted April 27, 2013 Author #3 Posted April 27, 2013 They list it as a Yamaha Boat engine part. Did they use that part on almost all the engines they made in the 80's?
timgray Posted April 27, 2013 Author #5 Posted April 27, 2013 I think I recall I need to pull the water pump to replace that elbow, Other than the gasket, anything in there that I should replace while I have it off?
Snaggletooth Posted April 27, 2013 #6 Posted April 27, 2013 I know, I know...... As long as you're in there........... Do you know if your '83 still has the plastic impeller in the pump?
Prairiehammer Posted April 27, 2013 #7 Posted April 27, 2013 Another place has them: http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/4/Make/Yamaha/YearID/31/Year/1990/ModelID/2239/Model/XVZ1300DAC_VENTURE_ROYALE/GroupID/347495/Group/WATER_PUMP_ Mfg. Part Number: 26H-12446-00-00 and don't forget the O-rings.
Peder_y2k Posted April 27, 2013 #8 Posted April 27, 2013 I just did mine, and got the elbow and o-rings from partzilla.com. I know there have been complaints (serious) about partzilla, but I've ordered many times and had excellent results, saved me some good money also, so I have confidence ordering from them. Their site indicates what parts are available and which ones are obsolete. Here's the link I used for my '88 elbow parts: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Yamaha/Motorcycle/1988/VENTURE+ROYAL+-+XVZ13DU/WATER+PUMP/parts.html -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA '83,88
timgray Posted April 27, 2013 Author #9 Posted April 27, 2013 I know, I know...... As long as you're in there........... Do you know if your '83 still has the plastic impeller in the pump? No clue. I dont think it has ever been opened up, so the chances are probably 100%. Where do you get a metal impeller?
reddevilmedic Posted April 27, 2013 #10 Posted April 27, 2013 rebuilding the water pump is a pain. theres this stupid little seal with a spring in it..if you don't get the shaft through it perfectly...yep...screwed! buy a new old stock pump...400, I did from a dealer in cali
