NorthwestFire629 Posted April 27, 2013 #1 Posted April 27, 2013 So my bike was running a little rough this season, so I pulled the tank and replaced the air filter. I also bought plugs, but I started the bike to make sure I got all the connections right. Now I've got a moderate amount of white smoke coming only from the top right tail pipe. What would cause this? Is it possible debris got down in the carb?
etcswjoe Posted April 27, 2013 #2 Posted April 27, 2013 I had this issue after I adjusted my floats and it turned out I had messed one up.
NorthwestFire629 Posted April 27, 2013 Author #4 Posted April 27, 2013 How can I fix this? I didn't adjust anything on the carbs, and it never happened before
wrnchjox Posted April 27, 2013 #5 Posted April 27, 2013 are you using any coolant, white smoke usually is a sign of coolant burning in a cylinder

NorthwestFire629 Posted April 27, 2013 Author #7 Posted April 27, 2013 I run a 96 royal star, so it is liquid cooled. I replaced the plugs after posting that and it doesn't appear to be smoking anymore. So perhaps the plug was fouled and wasn't firing. I also had to take the radiator cap/bracket off to open the air box, so perhaps a drop of antifreeze wound up in the cylinder? Whatever the cause, it seems to be resolved now.
