hkamjr Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Aloha, anyone used BikeMaster Full-Synthetic Engine Oil before? Any thoughts since they're priced right at $12 a quart. Thanks.
KenP Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Aloha, anyone used BikeMaster Full-Synthetic Engine Oil before? Any thoughts since they're priced right at $12 a quart. Thanks. I'm no expert, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.... :>) I use this as a good resource: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/ Me personally, I use Shell Rotella T 15W40 Dino, which is what a lot of the folks here seem to like. I also noted some test results on the above website from dino oil after several thousand miles for reference. My .02 FWIW......
FreezyRider Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 If you want to run a full synthetic, why not Rotella T6 which is 5W40 and rated for use in motorcycles as well. You can buy a gallon jug at WalMart for about $21....as opposed to $12 per quart for the Bikemaster!! I have used the T6 in 2 Goldwings and 2 RSV's, great oil! Joe
Miles Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 BTW, I happen to peek inside a local truck store the other day, as I was meeting with GeorgeS to hand off my CarbonOne lift adapter, and that is where we met, and they have the Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic oil priced at...$ 16.95 for a gallon jug. That is cheap. I use Mobil 1 full synthetic, but at this price, it might make me a convert to Shell Rotella synth.
JohnT Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I'm running the Rotella synthetic right now and have had no problems at all. Shifts well, no funny noises, no smoke, and no engine seizure. And it's priced right.
dfitzbiz Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 :sign yeah that:Been using Rotella Synthetic for the last 70,000 miles. I am now at 100,900. The old '99 still runs like new. I change oil and filter every 5000-6000 miles.

You should make arrangements to get out here in Hawaii so you can complete your US riding map.
hkamjr Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 :lightbulb:BikeMaster finally responded to my inquiry and referred me to this website regarding Japanese manufacturer requirements http://www.oilspecifications.org/articles/JASO_MA_JASO_MB.php.
