I've got one packed away in the garage somewhere. I can get the sizes later on. You looking for a replacement or looking at a project?

Mike

A project.:detective:

Hey Mike Did you get out to the garage yet?

I did. And I'm still looking. I've been packing things up and what was in one spot is now over here, or over there or .... maybe there.:confused24:

I haven't given up yet.

Don't go through a whole bunch of trouble to find it, I'll figure something else out.

If you are thinking of a headlight upgrade, you can't get any better than the Dual 90mm Hella projector upgrade I came up with a few years ago.

Dingy here on the forums had came up with a cad design of the mounting plate, and even made some adapters. if you wire it right on high beam it will light both bulbs (but be at 130Watts) and utterly destroy any HID upgrade out there in brightness.

Also the ECE cutoff of the projector bulb delivers a better "dont blind others" light output that honestly outperforms a HID bulb in the stock housing.

Just some ideas to point you at what has already been done on the 1st gen MK-I

What size is the headlight assembly in the 1st Gen MKI, not the bulb size the actual lens dimensions.

Ok, found the danged thing.

Lens only:

7 3/8" Wide

5 3/8" High

4" Front of lens to rear of bulb mounting flange. (not the bulb plugs)

I have a 1986 I was looking to adapt a MK1 headlight into it and use something like this into the light mount. This seems easier if I can fit the MK1 light assembly in place of the MKII's.:detective:

Thanks

Looks like you're up for a project.

Certainly would be an improvement.

The ones with the Hella Projectors are.

The weather is perfect here now, but I can't ride because I broke my ankle last Saturday. So while I had this 4-6 weeks I would tackle lights and other electrical items.

I decided to go with these instead. They have the slim ballast and are bi-xenon. I have the mounting hardware for a MKI coming from ebay. I hope this works:fingers-crossed-emo
