midnightrider1300 Posted April 22, 2013 #1 Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) As some here know I hosted my 1st ride Saturday 4/20/13... I was overwhelmed by the turnout. I had 20 + riders show up, some rode 3 hrs to get to the ride. It was a PERFECT day, Sunny mid to upper 60's, I couldn't have ordered better weather. 1st stop was Coon dog cemetery , most had never heard much less imagined a cemetery for coon dogs with elaborate tombstones... then we had lunch at Rattlesnake Saloon, it's built under a bluff it's very unique & beautiful place, it was a hit..but whats all that if the roads are not a good mix of twisties & cruzing... I think I manged to do both, everyone seemed to have a good time. We only had one OOOOPPPPS thanks to obama. the recreation area we were going to stop at and use for a bathroom break was closed OH and we lost one rider, from what I was told at our last stop the rider missed a turn the gunner stopped seen him turn around and assumed he was coming on...we waited on him for 30 minutes and one went back to hunt him , course he was a LOCAL and could have went 4 ways home..,,,Anyway it turned out to be a great day. Meet some great new riders... we had crotch rockets, duel sports, HD, trikes, cruisers and of course ventures....Looking forward to hosting my next ride..... 2WHEELSFORME Posted April 22, 2013 #2 Posted April 22, 2013 Incorrectly making an Obama slam turns your motorcycle post into a potilical rant.
Wizard765 Posted April 22, 2013 #3 Posted April 22, 2013 Way to go Don.. Sounds like a GREAT day.. Did you stay as one large group or break up into smaller groups for the ride?
midnightrider1300 Posted April 22, 2013 Author #5 Posted April 22, 2013 Way to go Don.. Sounds like a GREAT day.. Did you stay as one large group or break up into smaller groups for the ride? We actually stayed in one group....and it worked out, I was concerned but it worked...
Wizard765 Posted April 22, 2013 #6 Posted April 22, 2013 Yes.. I've done it both ways and keeping a large group together can be challenging to say the least. Especially if going through towns or a lot of turns at busy intersections. It's totally cool though on a large stretch of road to see a long line of bikes.. say on a lazy sweep..
