Just curious. Did the load test do a printout of the results? I had one done a while back that showed the status of the battey and a summary of the "Battey Health".

Battery tested as good, showed 12.7 volts and CCA's were still high but the "Health" was only about 25%. Not good.

If you keep the electrolyte level up and don't let them sit discharged they often last a very long time. My lawn tractor is 16 years old and I have only replaced the battery once. Only had the Venture 5 years, so don't have any metric for how long they can last.

I believe most lead acid batteries die an early death from neglect.

We have a RSV 99 and our stock battery lasted 9 1/2 years. We used a battery tender in the winter.

Yama Mama

That's the best, keep it charged during long down times. Find a lot of people wont spend $40.00 for a battery tender, Duh. they will be happy to buy bling for the bike.

I put it on a battery tender all winter and long down times. its a sealed agm so nothing to mess with. old will go in tractor and new one in the bike.

In 2010 I had to replace the battery on the Vulcan. It was the original battery when shipped to the states from Japan. The dealer was like WTF? I said battery tender...

My 07 Venture, (which really I got new in May 08) battery is still working. I thought it was a gonner this year, but cleaned the terminals and working great so far.

From the advice on this site, I bought a battery tender and use it every winter. My SeaDoo I only ever got two years on a battery, but since buying the battery tender I will be going on my 5th summer with the same battery.

I think I got my money's worth from being a member, just from that alone.

7 years on the OE made in Japan Yuasa battery. Was Still starting the bike and would charge up to 12.7 but figured I was on borrowed time. When Ipoulled you could see some swelling on the case. Didn't use a tender, but periodically every 6 months or so would disconnect battery and fully charge it over night. Recently Bought an Interstate (rebranded Yuasa) at northern on sale. Yuasa's you buy here are made in USA in PA. If I get 7 years out of this one I'll be happy.
