GolfVenture Posted April 21, 2013 #1 Posted April 21, 2013 My wife has mentioned that she would like to get new toilets for ours is too noisy. I've replaced the internal toilet tank mechenism, but I do agee one can really hear the water refilling process all throught out the house. New toilets do not have a noise rating on the box. Anyone dealt with this issue and found a good solution.

They have the dual flush buttons on the top of the tank lid. They are very quiet. You will not hear them refill. They do come with a new wax sealing ring, but...it is better to have the thicker wax ring on hand, just in case you need the thicker one. If you are unable to do this, due to motorcycle accident, and if you don't have a family member or friend that is a plumber, let me know, and I will drop everything I am doing, to come over and replace your toilets.

[/quote Duel flush button? One for liquids, use less water and one for solids needing more water? Miles you don't have any hearing issues do you?

In my house when the shower is running in one bathroom it sounds like water rushing through the pipes in another. They aren't even on the same run. Something about the lay out is just piping the sound around.
dacheedah Posted April 21, 2013 #8 Posted April 21, 2013 you could try the road king muffler mod, they might be a little throatier though . . . Try new internals of a different style and make sure the water valve is all the way open.

Jayceesfolly Posted April 22, 2013 #10 Posted April 22, 2013 Are the water lines rigidly mounted in the walls of your home? I had the same problem in my home and found the pipes going across the basement rafters were nailed tight to the beams. The sound of the water could be heard all thru the house. The rushing water transferred the noise to the beams and amplified it. The clamps holding the pipe in place were rigidly nailed to the beams. I removed the nails and wrapped a small piece of cheap rubber sheet around the pipe where it went in the clamp and them used dry wall type screws to reassemble the clamps. Doing that eliminated 90% of the problem.. I still have a few clamps that are under the dry wall, but I can live with the lower noise level now. Jim
GolfVenture Posted April 22, 2013 Author #11 Posted April 22, 2013 Brake Pad suggested to look into the Gate Valve. Its refered to when you google for Noisey Toilet. I will look into it and then report back...
