Old Man Biker Posted April 20, 2013 #1 Posted April 20, 2013 I took delivery of my 2006 Royal Star Venture yesterday. I found one with only 10250 km on on it, The dealer had put brand new tires on it and gave it a tune up and oil change to make sure everything was 100 per cent. I have been away form motorcycles for a more than a few years what with kids growing up and all and it was time for my wife and I to get back into it again. Wonderful bike i really like it. Good power, nice sound and really comfortable for this 60 year old frame. Well today the temp was plus 4 deg C so I just had to take it out. Put on 120 km, just a short ride. I see I have t get used to handling a heavy bike at low speeds (walking speed) again but i will be out practicing next week. It feels SOOOO good to be back on 2 wheels. In my riding days i typically put on 20 to 35 thousand km a year and it feels like old times. I know my riding skills are a bit rusty so I am going to do some drills to sharpen them again It is going to be a GREAT summer Ride long ride Safe
robclark63 Posted April 20, 2013 #2 Posted April 20, 2013 Me too! Just got back from 120 mile afternoon. Did a lot of work to the 88 VR this winter and it runs and stops great. I have a little bounce in the front forks, but I think I will try to take some oil out, I put progressives in and block offs. Over all the ride was great and I can't wait till summer either!! Happy riding:)

bongobobny Posted April 21, 2013 #9 Posted April 21, 2013 Welcome aboard!! One of the very few weak points of the RSV is the low speed handling. The bike tends to be a tad top heavy but once you get used to it everything should be OK. It is an absolutely wonderful bike to ride especially for long distances! Enjoy! These bikes are pretty much bullet proof and last a very long time with normal maintenance...
Guest tx2sturgis Posted April 21, 2013 #10 Posted April 21, 2013 From the title I thought it was gonna be a naughty post....luckily it was just a typo... Anyway....welcome aboard!
