what grips for your first gen??

Just as the title says...What grips do you guys recommend for an 88 venture? Mine are falling apart so I need some new ones. Thanks everyone!!

Me too. Large enough diameter to be very comfortable. Don't remember the model number, but it's the one that fits GoldWing.

Stock grips are the only way to go for me, the fatter ones hurt my hands on longer trips..........

I agree also, these grips were the first accessory that I added to my '84.

I just checked the ISO grips. The longest ones they have are 5.25 long. the grips on my bike are 6.25 long. What are you guys doing for the extra inch?

I still have these grips that came on the bike when I bought it. Never messed with them as they fit my hands fine. But.... they are showing signs of use and age and will have to replace them eventually.

 

I see a lot of good comments on the Isogrips but never ran across a set to try the fit and feel.

 

Do they fit a big hand well? I got some big paws (a 2xl or 3x glove) and most grips feel too small to be comfortable for a long ride.

I always prefered the Foam OEM grips, and when mine fell apart I ordered new foam sleeves...

I found those grips as that is what my bike came with also.

BikeMaster-Foam-Sleeve-Road-Grips-for-7-8-Bars I have a set of the 160mm grips coming tomorrow. I'll see how they fit the bike this weekend.

I just clicked on the link you have...I might try those out, seems like they will not break the bank and they might be decent!! I guess the ones for 7/8 bars are the ones to grab??

Actually I think I ordered them from Rick at Buckeye. I had to trim a bit off the end to get them to fit. Maybe that's the way to go???
