beastwood Posted April 17, 2013 #1 Posted April 17, 2013 I need to change a 5 amp fuse in the secondary fuse panel. It is behind the lower front cowling. How do you get the trim clip off? I can't think of how to pry it out without damaging something. Any body know how?
etcswjoe Posted April 17, 2013 #2 Posted April 17, 2013 Morning, I am not sure which clip you are talking about. To take off the lower cowling there are three screws you have to remove two in front one in back then take out the little plastic pin underneath right at the joining point of the cowlings (use a #1 phillips head) then gently pull out the cowling from the gromet.
djh3 Posted April 17, 2013 #3 Posted April 17, 2013 I messed one up so bad I ended up with a "real" nut plate and a 10/32 screw in it.
Freebird Posted April 17, 2013 #4 Posted April 17, 2013 I don't know what trim you are referring to either. I don't know of any trim on mine.

beastwood Posted April 18, 2013 Author #7 Posted April 18, 2013 To remove the lower front cover, the manual advises to remove the back cover first. That's where the trim clips are. If I can get to the fuse panel without removing the back cover, then I'm a happy camper. All I need is to change the fuse. Any help on this is appreciated.

You have to take out the screw from the back cover to release the front cowling once you take out the screws in the front but you do not remove the back cover.
beastwood Posted April 18, 2013 Author #9 Posted April 18, 2013 Thanks, I'm going to try that. If this exposes the fuse panel, then I can change the fuse. I blew out the fuse by using my air compressor that I plug into my car's cigarette lighter, but the aux plug is not rated for that.
