XV1100SE Posted April 17, 2013 #51 Posted April 17, 2013 Explanation not necessary IMO. I agree. People charge what they want, and people pay what they want. $8 difference is no big deal, and like you say they get a patch. I bought patches from you but haven't even put them on anything yet.

Sylvester Posted April 17, 2013 #57 Posted April 17, 2013 If you really want to do some calculating, go over to the STAR touring and riding web site, find out how many members they have and multiply by $48.00 to see how much dough Alan C is putting in his pockets every year. There are many STAR members on this site, and some take issue with your statement. Have you ever thought of the cost of a national meeting for as many people that STAR has, cost of the staff, cost of insurance, cost of advertising, cost of awards, cost of website and of course cost of a multitude of chapters? I know it is easy to think that all the money from groups goes to the head man, but that is not the case. Do you think all the tax money in the USA goes to Barrack Obama? Enough Said. Former National Officer for Star Touring and Riding Assc.

Former National Officer for Star Touring and Riding Assc. I belong to a local club (not STAR) and our annual membership is at least 3 times what we pay to be on here and what is said above is the reason ... it's much more than just an on-line forum and it costs money to run these clubs. None of the elected officials get paid for what they do.
Yammer Dan Posted April 19, 2013 #59 Posted April 19, 2013 I would just like to add that in fairness....the other site charges $20.00 per year but I think you get a patch and maybe something else. I just chose to keep the dues lower and let people buy patches and etc. should they want them. Not everybody does. WEAR a PATCH?? Then people would know you belong with this BUNCH of NUTS!!!
reddevilmedic Posted April 19, 2013 #60 Posted April 19, 2013 WEAR a PATCH?? Then people would know you belong with this BUNCH of NUTS!!! and cheapskates.....SEAFOAM!

TDunc Posted April 20, 2013 #63 Posted April 20, 2013 Babe Ruth 13-14 year old team. As a coach I now wonder what is thought about me. I charge $200.00 per kid times 12 kids. That's $2400.00 dang... (Usually three teams per year) Now for the cost 50 per umpire per game minimum 12 games is 1200.00. Plus 150 registration and set up. Babe Ruth fees and league fees 300.00 Uniforms. (Not tshirt ) hat belt socks pants shirt. 50.00 per kid 600.00 Bucket practice balls 100.00 Game balls 35.00 doz. 75.00 Light bill. Season 80.00 Chalk and Turface 100.00 season Gas for sandpro and lawn mower. Approximately 150.00 Life lessons I give for free. I am the one that cuts the grass, fertilizes the grass, lines the field, rebuilds the mound and does all the maintenance. I clean the toilets (which by the way is dirtier in the mens than the womens, I seem to have many dads that should stand closer to home plate due to shorter than normal bats so to speak) Ummm nought and nought is...... Yes I have some that complain. And yes if you do the math I come out of pocket most seasons. The point is. Everything cost money. Before we open our mouths and start blasting, complaining, discussing or whatever you want to call it we should think about the true cost and time it takes to do things. Since I make no money coaching I guess I should just stop it and tell 36 kids per year it cost to much for me to do this.... Don, simply.... Thank you.... Ok. Off the box and back to mopping up the mens room for another weekend of baseball.
JohnT Posted April 20, 2013 #64 Posted April 20, 2013 Just paid up my dues. Please deliver my new bike to the address on record. For the price of a hot dog and a beer at a ball game I get an entire year of insanity, information, entertainment, and insanity. (some things bear repeating) I'm in no way busting on the original poster. If I were to pay the value of what I have gotten from this site I would need another job to do so. When I first fired the old girl up (bike, not Mama) and got the well known green puddle I freaked. Almost took it to the shop right there. Posted here, got informed, issue resolved. I bet the Yamaha-ha-ha dealer would have charged me at least double the annual dues here. I seem to be emoticon happy all of a sudden.
