jimmyenglish Posted April 16, 2013 #1 Posted April 16, 2013 Hi everyone, I need to clean up the endless accessory wiring coming of the battery of my 86'. I have: driving lights 12v accessory plug x2 (one on dash, one in trunk) amber up front lights (some guy put on) 12v accessory wire for inside trailer accessory plug and int. lights Ford Exlplorer horn w/relay coming straight from batt. There might be another. Everything is fused but I would like to have a barrier strip or something just to clean it up. It's too willy nilly. All ideas greatly appreciated! Thanks and hope you're all having a great spring!
Prairiehammer Posted April 16, 2013 #2 Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) Here's my set-up: I've since added another relay to the right side of the airbox for driving lights and have placed the Ignitech TCI on the airbox as well. jimmyenglish Posted April 17, 2013 Author #4 Posted April 17, 2013 Wow! That is awesome. I too, am shamed. Thanks for posting this!
dacheedah Posted April 17, 2013 #5 Posted April 17, 2013 When I had my 89 I was having some crazy issues, replacing the fuse bank was suggested, I did not think were electrically related. After upgrading the fuse panel almost all went away. There is a reason we still aren't using them so it is a worthwhile project.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted April 17, 2013 #6 Posted April 17, 2013 I would say that is a man with a long cold non riding season.... my bikes are never off the road long enough to do work like that! Nice work Prairiehammer.

Here's a link to the thread: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=66650 I've done my fuse block, added needed relays and did my connections better. Now I feel like taking my sidecutters to the whole thing and starting over. Nice work Kevin.
