Godlover Posted April 16, 2013 #1 Posted April 16, 2013 I am working on the non-running 96 Tour and some suggested it see if the engine will turn over by hand. How does one do this on a motorcycle? Thanks
CaptainJoe Posted April 16, 2013 #2 Posted April 16, 2013 take the spark plugs out, stick in gear and push...
etcswjoe Posted April 16, 2013 #3 Posted April 16, 2013 Not sure if the 96 has the little circle cover on the stator cover but if it does take it off and you can turn it over with a socket if you can't get it to turn using Easy Riders method.
abusive throttle cranker Posted April 16, 2013 #4 Posted April 16, 2013 If it is so much like a 1st gen there is a 32mm nut on the crankshaft under the left side cover. NOT the smaller one in front!
