Guest tx2sturgis Posted April 15, 2013 #2 Posted April 15, 2013 Anyone here use one? Which one fits? Thanks. (There is a very old thread asking this same question, but, it never got answered, just different brands people use.) I can tell you for certain that the large Xena with alarm and 14 mm locking pin will not work on the Venture front rotor. I just tried it....it doesnt work. But I bought the Xena lock for my Ural, which it DOES fit. I dont like the way it operates on the Ural, so my advise is, look for something else. Unless you live or work or often park in a terrribly bad neighborhood, I wouldnt worry about locking the rotor on a Royal Star..no one steals these bikes anyway. Just lock the ignition and forks, and be current on your insurance.
awsmsrv Posted April 15, 2013 Author #3 Posted April 15, 2013 Thanks tx2. That's my thinking, as well. Was mainly just curious.
aharbi Posted April 16, 2013 #4 Posted April 16, 2013 I use the Xena XX6 with a 6mm pin. It fits 3 of my bikes. Including the Venture which will only accept the 6mm pin thru the holes in the disk due to the cover. I use it for overnight parking on a trip. If you cover your bike, a windy night that shakes the cover will set it off. I also padlock the steering and have a remote gorilla alarm on the Venture too. I also carry a heavy cable lock that I use to lock two bikes facing different directions together. I don't take chances nor gamble with fate. I figure the above is best I can do. Covering the bike is one of the best ways to keep folks from messin with it.
leo3wheel Posted April 16, 2013 #5 Posted April 16, 2013 Use a Xena XX6, I believe. Our RSV trike has a rake kit, and the handlebar locking mechanism was removed. Always use the rotor lock when we travel. Also cover our trike at night.
