You need to find the balance point of the bike, then put the lift at that spot. If the lift is then lifting on something you don't want it to, then you have to adapt something to make it fit, often times hockey pucks or pieces of wood are use to create lift spots, or you could check out Carbon Ones lift adapter with the stand.

After building my own lift adapters (from wood) which are specific to single bikes, I've concluded that purchasing a pre-made lift adapter (from ebay or elsewhere) is money well spent. :322:

Carbon one on this site makes an adaptor that fits right on your bike makes lifting your bike a breeze, comes with or without legs, I happen to have one I have sold my 2008 Venture an have one for sale with legs it is very well made, check them out, if you are interested let me know

I have a 2005 Royal Star 1300 Tour Deluxe. The lift That I have is a Torin 1500 lbs. capacity. Will your Adapter work? How much are you asking for it? Thanks

Click on Freebirds link above you can see what they are I think it will fit your RSTD but I would rather have you confirm that, the one I have has the legs can be used with or without the legs

The adapter will fit your bike but you probably should have a safety bar added to it due to the shorter Torin jack you're using. If the jacks lift arms are at least 13" long then you're good there and won't need the safety bar.
