dave_wells Posted April 11, 2013 #1 Posted April 11, 2013 I purchased a while ago a shark audio system I could use a couple of ideas on mounting them picture if you have them Are they any good if you have used them It consists of two speakers an amp and power cord with a fuse to run to the battery I want to mount on my tour deluxe My options are a P clamp on the handle bar or drill and mount them to the windshield I prefer the handle bar mount The amp has a handle bar mount on it Since I have the bike apart it is a good time to do any wiring
bj66 Posted April 12, 2013 #2 Posted April 12, 2013 I had one on my rstd. Dont know If I can find any pics of how it was mounted. I had a universal windshield bag mounted to hold the amp etc. I had a piece of foam tape on the bag to keep from rubbing/scuffing the top of the speedo. As far as the bag goes, I poked a hole in the bottom to route the speaker/power wires up from underneath. The speakers I had mounted from the mirror stems, but the wind blowing across them made it difficult to hear. I ended up getting U bolts that fit around the bars and mounted them behind the windshield. Much easier to hear. When I used the outfit, I kept the bag open and it seemed to get enough air etc to the amp. The amp will get warm. I very seldom used radio. I used a small Ipod shuffle. I put velcro on the back of it, and a piece on the clutch lever mount. I left the volume on the amp etc on high, and controled all of the volume/controls from the ipod. Worked real good, can control everything with your thumb that way. Your hand never leaves the bars to adjust anything. I found a pic, if I remember right, there were small right angle brackets that came with the speakers. If not I went to menards and picked up a couple brackets and drilled them to fit the u bolts/speakers. Hope this helps.
dave_wells Posted April 16, 2013 Author #3 Posted April 16, 2013 Thanks I picked up a couple of clamps Got 1 speaker on how I like it Now I just need to run some power and I am good to go

dave_wells Posted April 20, 2013 Author #6 Posted April 20, 2013 The audio is mounted Dumb ass me dropped the little amp and damaged the power button It is working for now not sure how long I can find another The button is loose This has some decent sound for $60.00 + 40.00 for two P clamps I just need to get it up to speed and see I think it will be fine
bj66 Posted April 21, 2013 #7 Posted April 21, 2013 Looks good. I just twisted my brackets from the clamp to the speaker until the speakers sat horizontal. You'll like the sound at speed tucked in behind the windscreen......Thumbs up!

KICKSHOT Posted April 21, 2013 #9 Posted April 21, 2013 May be too late but I bought a three pouch bag designed for a road king and mounted it to my winsheild. Amp is in the center and cord stored in right pouch. Smart phone in left pouch. Only play pandora, ipod or sirius thru it. I never open the pouch for the amp. kickshot
