DaveGwen Posted February 9, 2008 #1 Posted February 9, 2008 My son inlaw called me last night and told me that when he started up his 07 R.S.V. it had fuel coming out on top of his radiator and he could not tell where it was coming from. He said he could not see because of all the stuff in his way. I would think carb. or fuel line. He just got it in september. the way things have come lose on mine I would say that it could very well be. Dave
ibsaw Posted February 9, 2008 #2 Posted February 9, 2008 same thing happened to me on my 07. float was stuck. yamaha covered the repair under cust relations cause they said it was a fuel related problem. after repair they told me to start bike once a week
Squidley Posted February 9, 2008 #3 Posted February 9, 2008 Stuck float, I had it happen on my '99 when I re jetted it. If he doesn't want to take it in just take the back end of a screw driver and gently tap on the bowls. Mine stopped right after I did that, nothing serious.
DaveGwen Posted February 10, 2008 Author #4 Posted February 10, 2008 Thanks guys I will tell him. Hope that I never have that on my 06! Dave
sarges46 Posted February 10, 2008 #5 Posted February 10, 2008 Customer relations???? They better have fixed it under warranty...never mind just good will! Or did I misunderstand something again? 5 year warranty "bumper to bumper" unlimited mileage...fully transferable.
GeorgeS Posted February 10, 2008 #6 Posted February 10, 2008 Try some Sea-Foam, also, drain the carb bowls.
Redneck Posted February 10, 2008 #7 Posted February 10, 2008 Turn the gas valve off start it and run the carbs out of gas turn the valve back on and try it that will let the needles open all the way and will usually clear any debris and allow them to seal.
