Long Tall Posted April 10, 2013 #1 Posted April 10, 2013 I'm sure there is a link or two here but when I did the search, I came up with threads from 07 & 08. Anyway. Made a set of leveling links and my Bud had them powder coated for me at NO CHARGE. Sent seat off to Rick for his mod and came back today. Put it on the bike and WOW what a difference. I'm 6'5" tall so no problem on the leg length issue. Mine has always been feeling like I was setting on the horn of the seat all the time and constantly raising myself up the moving "BACK" INTO the seat. Mentioned this to Rick. Took the 06 BIG RED out for a test drive and I did not once feel like I was on the horn. I did need to make an adjustment to the Uptopia Back Rest but I expected that. All in all. I like them both. Side Bar. Ordered Rick's Bag Bolts and love them. PERIOD! New Tires go on tomorrow and then Big Red will be ready for the year. All lubed up and ready. Long Tall
VentureFar Posted April 11, 2013 #2 Posted April 11, 2013 I just got my 07 RSV and although the seat is the most comfortable I have ever had the pleasure to rest my butt in, my wife's legs are falling asleep. I found this great forum and info on Butler. I am hand carrying my seats to him for magic rework next week. I am 5 11 185. I' ll report back. VentureFar...
VentureFar Posted April 16, 2013 #4 Posted April 16, 2013 Long Tall, What tires did you choose and why? What about narrower front- would that add to the levelers steering fix? What is the consensus on this forum about which tires give the greatest distance, Which the best handling. I can't find a thread on it but I know it has to have been discussed many times. VentureFar Posted May 26, 2013 #5 Posted May 26, 2013 Ricks seat mods really make a difference. My wife doesn't complain about her legs falling asleep and the pillion top is so comfy she actually remarks about it. The work Rick did on the driver's seat is subtle but effective. Took out a little "meat" on either side of the nose of the seat, carved out the back a bit and dug the "butt bone" area a little deeper so i sit more IN the seat that on top of it. Then covered with memory foam for added Cush. I love it and way cheaper that any other seat work company/ person. And I got to spend some time with Rick talking Ventures! Highly recommend his work.
