Phoneman1981 Posted April 9, 2013 #1 Posted April 9, 2013 Hello Everyone: We have had a mild winter again this year. Little moisture. Bleak irrigation season. However we have been hit with a blizzard. 16 degrees, 5 inches of snow and 50 mph winds have shut down the region. Could get 18 inches of snow before it is all over. I feel bad for the ranchers that are calving.
Dale124 Posted April 9, 2013 #2 Posted April 9, 2013 As a Canadian, I feel your pain. We still have snow on the ground and cold temperatures here in Edmonton. Hang in there.
Phoneman1981 Posted April 9, 2013 Author #3 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks. Hoping this all passes before Wednesday night. Patrolman46 and I want to head for Kreg's in Texas.
Venturous Randy Posted April 9, 2013 #4 Posted April 9, 2013 I saw about 76 degrees on a 240 mile ride yesterday. This was our first nice ride day in a while. It is supposed to be about 81 today and tomorrow. RandyA
Power Trippin Posted April 9, 2013 #5 Posted April 9, 2013 I am ready for summer too, and I like the winter! We are expecting one more blast this week, possibly 10"'s.
bj66 Posted April 9, 2013 #6 Posted April 9, 2013 90 percent of SD is under storm warnings. We were supposed to get hit last night by same storm, but it slid by to the south. Didnt miss us by much either. The next county to the south had about 4 inches of snow. Southern SD had a lot of ice with it. Lots of power outages. We still have a chance to get quite a bit of snow yet. Some parts of SD are forecast to get 12 to 16 inches of that crap. Glad to hear that you got some moisture down there. Take it any way you can I guess.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted April 9, 2013 #7 Posted April 9, 2013 Wow..... I am glad I live up here in the warm part of Canada. But seriously, I hope everyone stays safe and the storms dissipate quickly. Be careful out there folks.

Geesh, I'm turning into Tom.
Phoneman1981 Posted April 9, 2013 Author #9 Posted April 9, 2013 Thanks for all of the responses. Snow and lesser winds have continued throughout the day. So thankful for the moisture!!!!! It was 70 degrees last weekend. Wife's employer dismissed them at 1:00. She called at 2:00 to indicate she was home but had the pickup buried in the driveway. She is really good at doing that!!!!!!! I called the neighbor and he went over with his row crop tractor with cab and pulled my pickup out so that I can now get home. He suggested that I cut across my hay field that is more open than my drive. So nice to have good neighbors. At least I will not have to start a cold tractor when I get home. Still watching the storm. Hoping to head south after work tomorrow night if mother nature does not interfere.

We were in the 60's today but northern Iowa is in a winter storm warning for tonight. We need the rain so we will take it.
bongobobny Posted April 10, 2013 #11 Posted April 10, 2013 Gee, I feel for you, but keep it there Mark, we've had enough here...
OrlinEngh Posted April 10, 2013 #12 Posted April 10, 2013 I wouldnt mind the snow, We are in a flood watch untill Thurday evening but it sounds like they are going to put it up to a flood warning, Thursday the temp is going to drop so we are going to go from Rain to freezing rain to snow, I can hear the creek thats 300 yards away now and its pouring rain, what snow we had left is going quick. So in the morning its put the chains back on the truck and on the grader and get ready to push the mud and snow off of the roads. Orlin
