Working on Members Map

OK folks, I've been working on the members map. Don't know if it is what you folks want or not but you can check it out. I think I have it set so that it is only viewable by Supporting Members. Let me know.

...I can see that you are listed...BTW what's the difference between "registered" and "supporting"?

Basically "registered" are trial members. I've removed that one. If we use this the way I am envisioning it, it will primarily be our "assistance list". Only supporting members will have access to that information. Telephone numbers and etc.

It places my marker after I zoomed in. I added the title and text then insert button. Afterwards when I go back to the main link my marker is no longer there.

Hmmmm...the entire map comes up but it only shows the one marker for Freebird...no other markers...is this a test mode or should there be other markers visible?

You have to add your own information. At the top there should be a link that says "Your Entry".

I put in my info and it shows the marker in Colorado Springs but if I leave the map and come back,my marker is gone.

Same here, once I set a marker , leave and come back later the marker is gone.

Is there a window zoom function that i missed, it is a little clumsy getting down to the street level, doable, but clumsy without a window zoom.

OK....I just took a look and I think I figured it out. A couple of things. I had it set so that I had to approve the entries. I now have it set to auto-improve. I also had to set a cron job so it may be that your information won't show immediately. I have the cron job set to run every 10 minutes.

 

Those of you who have already entered your information are showing now.

So, can we make this a "sticky" in a forum so it is easily found for future reference? I LOVE this idea.

I just made it a sticky but once I determine that it's going to work out OK, and that people like it, I'll add a link to it from the left menu or the upper menu bar.
