dacheedah Posted April 9, 2013 #2 Posted April 9, 2013 ugggggggghhhhhh noooooooooo waayyyyyy No footings are bad, cant tell what his layout even is but when I built my garage I framed my walls with california corners, squared, sheeted and tyvek and then stood them up and plumbed them and set braces. For truses we put our nailers 1 1/2 off of the outside, that also becomes your ceiling nailer later but it sure makes setting the end truss a snap. Set metal clips on the top plate in the layout and set plumb and brace. I've seen some pole framing that looked better
CaptainJoe Posted April 9, 2013 #3 Posted April 9, 2013 I like banditos remark..."I call bull****. Only a woman could make such a mess with construction materials and a hammer. " BAAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! HA! HA! HA!
Carbon_One Posted April 9, 2013 #5 Posted April 9, 2013 Why are you making fun of YammerDans garage ??? Can't be Yammers cause his is made of cement blocks & metal roofing. I don't think I've ever seen such a pathetic looking building. In fact I know I haven't. Larry
Brake Pad Posted April 9, 2013 #6 Posted April 9, 2013 You know this SH** ain't South Florida. Makes me sick to see something like this. Un-Frigging Believable !!!!!

dacheedah Posted April 9, 2013 #9 Posted April 9, 2013 now that makes me question what nails he's framing with??
mbrood Posted April 9, 2013 #10 Posted April 9, 2013 I'm afraid I am a bit with the poster... if I am a renter, I would probably just enjoy the show... and then a quiet call to the city to have it removed. We get quite a bit of this around here for this type of structure and you can't hardly grab a nail without a permit. The safety issue is the base concern but the enjoyment of watching such ribald intentions executed holds it's own merits. My father in law needed help in Kansas and I asked if the 2 car garage was properly permitted and he laughed at me. "Kid, this is Kansas, if it burns down and damages somebody's property you are liable, otherwise, have at it."
robclark63 Posted April 9, 2013 #11 Posted April 9, 2013 LOL...I think when I was 14 a few buddies and myself built a so called cabin in the woods that was better than that thing!! :rotf:I think I have seen a few contractors down here try to build that quality!!
fishrepair Posted April 10, 2013 #13 Posted April 10, 2013 I have a outhouse that is constructed better than that.

RTR Posted July 25, 2013 #16 Posted July 25, 2013 absolutely true story... while i was serving my carpentry apprenticeship, my buddy got his degree and was teaching school.during the summer a couple of his fellow teachers and he thought they would make some extra money and got a contract to build a garage for someone. (seeing these pics reminded of this story) they got the walls up , rafters and plywood on the roof and were starting to shingle the roof. the way my friend tells it, one of the guys climbed up the ladder with a bundle of shingles on his shoulder, flipped it off onto the roof and they heard a loud -crack-... next thing you know the walls blew out , roof collapsed in, and they all got some some bones broken. legs, arms, etc.
CaptainJoe Posted July 25, 2013 #17 Posted July 25, 2013 This is what you get, when you go with low bidder.... Now you know why every time our gov. tries to do something, they screw it up...
Trader Posted July 25, 2013 #18 Posted July 25, 2013 I remember hearing about one of the astronauts who went to the moon. He said it was a scary thought that they were sitting on top of more power than several atomic bombs used in WWII, controlled by many computers, built with thousands of intricate parts....all supplied by the LOWEST BIDDER!!!!!
