robclark63 Posted April 8, 2013 #1 Posted April 8, 2013 Well it finally reached 70 degrees today and the only thing I rode around was my lawnmower...LOL...I am waiting on a fork part that is supposed to be in tomorrow. And to make things worse my buddy shows up on his bike...I can't wait till the first ride of the season...sigh...Maybe next weekend...
Snaggletooth Posted April 8, 2013 #2 Posted April 8, 2013 I hear ya, I do. Had a couple weeks of decent weather here. Haven't hit 70 yet but close enough. Had the bike down for the first week replacing the water pump, a long overdue project. Decided to go through the rest the bike to make sure I was good for the season. All the while watching bikes going down the road in front of my place. Got that done, good to go. Headed out of town to visit my daughter. Got 50 miles away and the clutch slave blew out. Back to the garage. Another week of watching bikes roll by. One day of chasing a minor electrical issue and ready to go again. So this morning I was ready to ride. So course, drizzle, light ran, breezy, cooler that it had been. Sure screwed up my cleaning and wax job. But I did get some miles in. I'll wash it later. Hope you get rolling soon.
uncledj Posted April 8, 2013 #3 Posted April 8, 2013 I'm with ya. Spent the day up to my elbows in oil / grease, trying to get my backhoe running (problem with valve body). I was thinking the whole time I should be out on old blue, shaking off the Winter blahs. I'll be happy if I can get out for a real ride by May.
Eddie Posted April 8, 2013 #4 Posted April 8, 2013 blah blah blah spent the day watching my daughters softball team in 44 degree weather in the wind
Black wing Posted April 8, 2013 #5 Posted April 8, 2013 could be worse i had my bike out for 10km two weeks ago at midnight and blew my tci, so its 4 weeks till i get mine from dingy and had to push my venture 2.5km to get home. did you know that the venture is a really heavy bike?
reddevilmedic Posted April 8, 2013 #6 Posted April 8, 2013 im with eddie! blah! 38 and drizzle.....45 the other day and i went riding for an hour, just to put fresh gas in the bikes.
MidlifeVenture Posted April 8, 2013 #7 Posted April 8, 2013 Warm but still a coating of salt on the roads rain next week but supposed to drop down to freezing Friday I hope they have the trucks put away and leave the roads clean.
Phoneman1981 Posted April 8, 2013 #8 Posted April 8, 2013 Close to 70 degrees here this weekend. Rode 30 miles yesterday. Forecast is for 10-18 inches of heavy wet snow late Monday and Tuesday. Hoping to leave for Texas on Thursday!!
Yammer Dan Posted April 8, 2013 #9 Posted April 8, 2013 All kinds of sunshine and close to 70. So I took the Warden shopping......
Venturous Randy Posted April 8, 2013 #10 Posted April 8, 2013 About 70 here today and piddled with bike, changed oil and tweaked on a couple of other things. I did not feel too bad about not riding out today as tomorrow is going to be warmer and by Wednesday, it is supposed to be close to 80. I am officially retired now, so everyday is a weekend. RandyA
