SilvrT Posted April 2, 2013 #1 Posted April 2, 2013 Anyone got one of these? What's your take on it? http://cf2.supertorch.eu/en/index.php
rbig1 Posted April 2, 2013 #2 Posted April 2, 2013 did i read that correct cost about a dollar a min to run. 100hrs is not very long. or is that per charge.....
Jayceesfolly Posted April 3, 2013 #3 Posted April 3, 2013 Rick: I don't know anything about your light, but I bought a Cree light for $28 and it is a great unit. It is very similiar to yours. See Ebay...........Item number: 200901983017. It works great and is multifunctional. Hi-Med-Lo-Strobe Flash-SOS. Comes with a spare battery and charger. 1000 LUMENS makes this the brightest light I have and it sure is bright. I am going to order another one to keep in my bike. Jim

Jim That looks like a great flashlight ... according to the specs it has a much higher lumens rating. What it doesn't appear to have is the variable optical focus but what the heck ... is that worth $70 ??
Jayceesfolly Posted April 4, 2013 #6 Posted April 4, 2013 Rick: I have used the Cree light for a few days now and it is very bright and throws a very concentrated beam. I don't think I would need an adjustable beam. At 30 feet it is about 20" in diameter. And stays very concentrated out to about 125 feet. Amazon has them for about $15.00 without the extra battery and charger. Also found out that the beam only has four adjustments and not five as advertised. High.. Low..Strobe ..SOS. There is no Med light level. Also, the manual stated the unit was "water resistant" and not waterproof. All aluminum construction and well made, in my opinion. I have about four hours use on the first battery and haven't charged it yet and have not noticed any decline in light output yet. I have ordered another one to keep in my bike. Jim
pmelah Posted April 4, 2013 #7 Posted April 4, 2013 yes that is per charge and they are fantastic i had one at work kept it about 9 months then loaned it to one of my crews and they lost it i think they stole it and did not want to give it back it was so good if i had the money i would get another one in a heartbeat
bkuhr Posted April 4, 2013 #8 Posted April 4, 2013 I have been using this for about 8 months now at work http://www.ebay.com/itm/3w-Cree-SWAT-Light-Led-Torch-Multifunction-Flashlight-Ultrafire-50W-New-Box-/121034800620#vi-content It blowes away any incandescent torches, even the big handheld 12v ones. Have yet to kill the battery during 8 hour shift, although I do recharge every day. The zoomable focus is VERY useful. Wide beam for near work, or zoom for spot down lengh of 100' furnace. and can beat the price. Only dislike-does not include sheath. But I made my own.
chabicheka Posted April 4, 2013 #9 Posted April 4, 2013 Head lights on my Millennium are just fine.....besides, I prefer having BOTH my hands on the handlebars at all times when riding. I guess I could hold it with my teeth, but as I said, am good with the lights as they are.
SilvrT Posted April 4, 2013 Author #10 Posted April 4, 2013 One thing I've noticed on the eBay sites for these "CREE" lights is that they can't ship them outside the USA (to Canada for example).
Condor Posted April 4, 2013 #11 Posted April 4, 2013 I have a couple of 160 lums that I carry in the trunk of the bikes. They are a 3AA LED model with high low strobe settings. The high and low are OK, but the strobe is a PITA, but what the 'H' ...sigh... they were cheap. Then about two months ago I picked up a lot of Sears Craftsman electronics at an auction, and there were two of these in the mix. I loaded one up with 6AA's to test it, and Holy Guacamole Batman!!! Talk about strong!! It burned a hole in my office wall.... And a waxing moon went to full... Youse gotta be carefull because you hit anyone with one of these things on the low setting and you'll blind them for life. Who needs a strobe setting?? I bought the whole lot for $50 bucks, and everthing worked, even the multi-meters, and sound DB meter....
Jayceesfolly Posted April 18, 2013 #12 Posted April 18, 2013 Rick: I know this is an old post but, I thought you might be interested in this light. It is 3000 Lumens and could be used as a backup for a dead headlight. Check out this writeup from Web Bike World: http://www.webbikeworld.com/flashlight/fandyfire-uv-s5-flashlight/ That's lot of light! Jim
reddevilmedic Posted April 18, 2013 #13 Posted April 18, 2013 for the 100.00 range, I would go here... http://www.rigidindustries.com/Halo-800-Lumen-LED-Flashlight-p/30120.htm. best in the world, IMHO!
Flyinfool Posted April 18, 2013 #14 Posted April 18, 2013 Anyone got one of these? What's your take on it? http://cf2.supertorch.eu/en/index.php It is the last line of the whats included that worries me. If it needs to come with a spare switch, that means that they know this is a frequent failure point. Are additional switches available, for what cost, AND just how often do they expect the switch to fail? I am a bit of a light Junky, bigger is better, The ultimate flashlight for raw power that I have found is this one at 8,500 Lm. Now I just need to find 4 bills to blow on a flashlight just for fun ....
Peder_y2k Posted April 18, 2013 #15 Posted April 18, 2013 I bought one of these, along with extra batteries and wall charger, and am quite impressed. Can light up the whole side of a house some 400ft away, that's across the golf course from where I live. Most adequate for my applications, including substitute headlight in worst case scenario. Non focusing lens. Don't think vehicle charger was offerred. Under $20 delivered. This makes ALL my other flashlights obsolete. http://www.tmart.com/UltraFire-WF-501B-CREE-XM-L-T6-1000LM-5-Modes-LED-Flashlight-Electric-Torch_p150607.html -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA '83,88
Jayceesfolly Posted April 19, 2013 #16 Posted April 19, 2013 Pete: I have the same light but it came with two batteries, charger plus a 12 volt charger. I paid $25.00 for it and liked it so well I bought a second one to keep in the bike. It makes all of my older flashlights obsolete. This thing will blind you if you look at the light beam! Jim
Peder_y2k Posted April 19, 2013 #17 Posted April 19, 2013 Jim, Where did you get yours? I'm thinking to get a 2nd with a 12v charger, that way I can have two lights with extra batteries plus chargers everywhere. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA '83,88
Jayceesfolly Posted April 19, 2013 #18 Posted April 19, 2013 I bought it off eBay and don't remember the site. If you do a search, it will come up. It came from China and took about 2 to 3 weeks to get here. Here are two lights on eBay: 271136542790 & 180730095994. Note that these are only 600 lumens. Do a search for "Cree flashlight w/12 volt charger". Also try Amazon. Jim
