Went to take the bike out Saturday and had no power at all. I thought since the bike had been sitting for a few weeks the battery was dead. So I pushed it back in the garage and hooked up the battery charger. Checked this morning and the charger indicates the battery is full so I turned on the key and......................nothing. No lights, speedo, horn, fuel pump, NOTHING!

It was running fine when I parked it. What do you think? Fuse? Which one? Or something else? TIA.

I finally found the main fuse. Its OK.

All fuses are good.

Battery read 9.5 volts.

As I said before, the bike was running fine when I parked it. Been sitting about a month.

No power at all.

I have an '09 as well and all I got was "clicking" when I went to start it. Replaced the battery with a Deka AGM and fired right up.

If you are on the original battery.... its "expiry" date may have been reached. 9.5 v is too low I believe indicating one or more failed cells.

ignition switch, should be a thread on the bypass and that could be a way to test it.

I'm not sure what your telling me. Can you give me a little more detail please?

I'm starting to think it may be the battery. I just thought it should at least power the lights or speedo or something, even if it wont crank the bike.:confused24:

My battery did the same thing, work fine one day, nothing at all the next. Put it on the charger, still nothing. New battery, been fine ever since.

I measured voltage on mine when my bike wouldn't start and had something like 11.4v. Less than that might not be enough to do anything.

Well, since the battery was only reading 9.5 volts I knew I needed a new battery anyway. So I bought one and installed it. Viola, I'm back on the road. Still cant believe NOTHING worked with a low battery.

A special thanks to Eck for the call and the tutorial and link on the switch bypass. I'll be doing that by weeks end.

Thanks to all!
