Dale124 Posted April 1, 2013 #1 Posted April 1, 2013 Hi all. I was just curious to know if most people here use a jack or stand when storing their bike for winter, or do you just let it sit on the wheels? Thanks, Dale.
PGunn Posted April 1, 2013 #2 Posted April 1, 2013 I do for the winter also helps in the spring because as long as it is up in the air change the fluids also.
SilvrT Posted April 1, 2013 #3 Posted April 1, 2013 Get the Carbon One lift adapter and let it sit on that ... is what I did with my '06.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted April 1, 2013 #4 Posted April 1, 2013 Get the Carbon One lift adapter and let it sit on that ... is what I did with my '06. Rick do you still have the Carbon One and do you still use it on the wing?
Dale124 Posted April 1, 2013 Author #5 Posted April 1, 2013 I thought this one from J & S Jacks looked cool. Hopefully the video link works. I'm not sure how to embed the YouTube video in this window from my iPad. [ame=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ns3FE2W2qd0]J&S Motorcycle Lifts - YouTube[/ame]
pmelah Posted April 1, 2013 #6 Posted April 1, 2013 nope itsnot supose to sit long enough to be stored for winter but then again im supose to ride year round
Condor Posted April 1, 2013 #7 Posted April 1, 2013 Shackin' my bike around like that would scare the cr@p out of me....
Eck Posted April 1, 2013 #8 Posted April 1, 2013 I cant get mine parked long enough to put it on a stand..
etcswjoe Posted April 1, 2013 #9 Posted April 1, 2013 I cant get mine parked long enough to put it on a stand.. I have the same issue, however I like those stands that you can roll around your garage to get the bike out of the way more.
Miles Posted April 1, 2013 #10 Posted April 1, 2013 All of my bikes that get stored for the Winter, or are placed in my mini-museum are all placed on either the OEM centerstand, or on a bike lift, so that very little weight gets put on the tires, or suspension while in storage.
Power Trippin Posted April 1, 2013 #11 Posted April 1, 2013 I store mine on the center stand. Can I add to the question? Do you change your fluids in the fall or the spring? I like to change mine in the fall, however, someone (me) was too busy to do it in the fall, so I am in the process of doing it now!
XV1100SE Posted April 1, 2013 #12 Posted April 1, 2013 Carbon One adapter with legs. Puts it at a good height to do "winter work" on it, no jack handle to walk around. Nice and stable !
SilvrT Posted April 2, 2013 #13 Posted April 2, 2013 Rick do you still have the Carbon One and do you still use it on the wing? Nope. sorry... gave it to the guy who bought my '06. Don't think it would work on the Wing .... but the centre stand does
kca Posted April 2, 2013 #14 Posted April 2, 2013 Get the carbon one stand works great, we had a 7.7 earthquake this winter shook us pretty good:shock3:. Checked on the R.S.T.D and it was sill standing tall.
