I have been to Hap's and got to meet him (Hap, not Kenny). Place I worked was dealer trading for a bike up there. Neat Guy. He told me story about when he was a Harley Honda Triumph dealer in the early 70's. Harley wanted him to build a separate store or lose his dealership. In the 70's that was a no brainer and guess who is not a Harley dealer. Of course he said I didn't miss having them in the 70's and 80's but would like to have thme back now (this was early 90's on the cusp of Harley's return).

Hap's is (or at least at that time 1992ish) was the epitomy of motorcycle shops. Also had cycle salvage. A short while later when I had my 92.5 ST 1100ABS, Hap's had the matching trunk for it. Know that Honda introduced and then discontinued the Hondaline Trunk for the ST1100 within a 6 month time period.

Cool article. Brings back memories. I worked in a Motorcycle shop owned by a real estate guy, had no real appreciation for it. Would be nice to work for a Shop owned by a motorcycle guy......
