Beau-Kat Posted March 22, 2013 #1 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Well, I had my Millenium on my table lift to change oil, rear brake pads and fluid, and do some inspecting of other stuff. Worked diligently and felt good about being finished before my 3 yr old boy woke up from his nap and would want to come back into the garage with me (he has his own tools) and would want to help. Anyway, I was letting the lift down slowly and had already disconnected the air hose from the up/down foot pedal valve to get the hose out of the way. As the table dropped, lower and lower, I began to notice that it was looking a little crooked and began tipping. I quickly realized that my roller seat had somehow rolled back under the table and that side of the table was being held up by it while the table and 900 pound bike tipped. My foot pedal valve leaks and I could not just stop it from releasing more air to keep the lift from continuing to drop, so I had to dash to hook back up the quick connect hose and begin raising the table. Everything worked out, but I thought for a few seconds that my bike and lift were just going to heal over and crash to the floor. It was a scary few seconds. Lessons learned-Don't get in a hurry with maintenance. Get the stupid stool outa the way. And DO NOT disconnect the air until the lift is safely lowered. And if that wasn't enough, I have gum trrees and have to watch out for those daggum gum balls in the driveway. I had blown the driveway clear of gum balls and was backing the bike out for a test drive. One lone renegade gum ball ended up under my left foot and my foot rolled on it. Had to strain to keep from dropping the bike. About popped my hip out of joint, but held the bike up. That bike had a death wish for itself (maybe for me too) today. Almost canceled the test drive, but somehow, any ride, even if just a short test drive just makes everything ok again. Edited March 22, 2013 by Beau-Kat

Snaggletooth Posted March 22, 2013 #8 Posted March 22, 2013 I have heard of people pulling the jack out without the kick stand down too:whistling:. Oh crap. I didn't think anybody saw that. My old neighborhood was the critical mass center for Walnut and Oak trees. If the squirrels weren't bombing you with nuts when you fired the bike up they were rolling them in front of you when you tried to leave. I like walnuts. They go well with squirrel meat. Both are hard to run over.
